About

About Étude Science

A curated reference index of the research that shaped the modern world — built to make landmark science easy to find, understand, and trace back to its source.

What this is

Étude Science is a curated index of 42 landmark scientific papers spanning 9 fields — from the structure of DNA and the theory of relativity to the transformer architecture behind modern artificial intelligence. Each entry gives you the essentials at a glance: who wrote it, where and when it was published, a plain-language summary of what it found and how, and a direct link to the original publication.

What it is not

Étude Science is not a publisher and does not host the papers it indexes. Every paper listed here was published by its original journal or repository, and all rights remain with the authors and their publishers. Our summaries are written independently by Étude to orient the reader; for the definitive text, figures, and data, always consult the original via the “View original paper” link.

How papers are chosen

The index focuses on papers of lasting, field-defining significance — works that introduced a foundational idea, opened a new field, or are recognised among the most consequential in their discipline. Each record’s bibliographic details — authors, year, venue, and digital object identifier (DOI) — are verified against authoritative sources so that every link resolves to the correct version of record.

How to use the archive

You can search by paper title, author surname, keyword, or topic, or browse by field. Every paper page offers a ready-to-copy citation in APA and BibTeX formats and links to the DOI or arXiv record.

A note on summaries

Summaries, “key findings”, and “methods” descriptions are original editorial text written by Étude in plain language. They are intended as faithful, accessible orientations — not substitutes for the original scholarship, and not reproductions of any publisher’s abstract.
